Begin Practicing
Anshinkyo is a spiritual philosophy and way of life compatible with any religion, which means one need not leave their chosen faith to practice the Peaceful Heart way. Everything begins with the recognition of four basic pillars of truth.
Balance-The Japanese word "和" (Wa), meaning "harmony" refers to a state of peaceful coexistence. Life thrives when personal growth aligns with acceptance of the ebb and flow of life, communal harmony and environmental stewardship.
Impermanence-The Japanese Buddhist word "無常", (Mujō), signifies "impermanence". Embrace change as a cycle of life and renewal, where challenges build resilience and joy. Accepting what cannot be changed "仕方がない," (Shikata ga nai) is an essential practice for personal peace.
Compassion- The Japanese word "思いやり" (Omoiyari) is a widely recognized term for compassion in everyday life. Acting with empathy toward self, others, and nature, creating ripples of positive impact and is important to a peaceful life.
Simplicity- The Japanese term "簡素", (Kanso) implies simplicity. Strip away excess to find meaning in everyday moments—less is more for deeper fulfillment. We don't find value in things, but rather in simple experiences of everyday life.
